Our puppies are growing and almost ready for new farms! These are working dogs and need to go to a home that will give them plenty of fenced-in space and a job guarding livestock. Puppies will need to be monitored and worked with in the beginning to view chickens and other small livestock as “friends not toys.”
- Exposed to all our livestock by the time they leave: goats, hogs, cows, chickens.
- Already making rounds with mom and dad at night, learning who and what is a “threat.”
- We handle them only at feeding time so that they are more bonded to their jobs.
- Parent temperament is wonderful. Very gentle but alert.
- Mom is very in tune to flying predators (hawks, buzzards, etc.) as well as ground predators.
- Dad is the BEST with chickens, so docile he allowed the chickens to eat his food when we first got him.
PUPPY INFORMATION:
- Born Wednesday November 20, 2024
- Available to go to new farms on Friday February 14, 2025. (12 weeks old)
- We have 3 solid whites and 2 badger (dark ears that will fade with age) available.
- There are 2 females and 3 males.
- Our adult female is more dominant and we expect these female puppies to be the same. If you already have an existing LGD, think about which gender would do best with your current stock.
- Puppies are purebred, but not from registered stock. We have found that registered Pyrs typically have less guarding instinct since they are bred for looks/production.
- We do not vaccinate our livestock and prefer to give the dog’s new owners preference in which vaccines they have, so these dogs have not been given any puppy shots.
- They are fed raw milk and raw eggs daily to boost natural immunity against parvo and other viruses.
- We recommend adding one dropper of colloidal silver to their water bowl during each refill for the first week at home to help with the transition and exposure to new germs on your property.
- Currently eating Valupak puppy food, soaked in milk for added softness.
- They will be wormed with a natural wormer before leaving the farm.
INVESTMENT:
- Puppies are $377. A $77 deposit will be required to “hold” a puppy for you. (this listing)
- In order to make it fair for choosing puppies, we will allow litter choice in the order that deposits are received.
